Maintains records of matters involving persons under the age of 18, including Delinquency, Dependency, Adoption, and Children/Families in Need of Services.

Overview

The Juvenile Department maintains records of matters involving persons under the age of 18. The following are types of cases handled through the Juvenile Division:

  • Delinquency
  • Dependency
  • Termination of Parental Rights (pursuant to F.S. Ch. 39)
  • Adoption (resulting from F.S. Ch. 39)
  • Removal of Disability of Non-Age (Emancipation)
  • Children in Need of Services (CINS)
  • Family in Need of Services (FINS)

Notice

Juvenile records are non-public. Release of any information regarding a juvenile is limited and may only be obtained by appropriate parties to a case pursuant to Chapters 39 and 985 of the Florida Statutes. A party must present proper identification in order to obtain information and/or copies of juvenile's records.

Collections

Any amount of Fines, Fees or Costs assessed by the court that remains unpaid after 90 days will be turned over to a collection agency pursuant to Florida Statute 28.246 and 938.29. Collection agencies may add up to 40% for their services. Contact the agency assigned to your case to determine the full amount due. Partial payments are accepted.
